This month’s worksheets are all about exploring animals, fruits, and insects you can find in the Philippines. I love doing themes like this because it connects learning to real places and real experiences — especially for kids growing up abroad with Filipino roots.

Inside this pack, children will see familiar animals like the tarsier (so tiny and cute!) and the carabao, which is such a big part of life in the province. The carabao always reminds me of slow mornings and rice fields. Very classic Filipino childhood image.

We’re also looking at insects — and not just the cute ones 😅

There’s the mosquito (so annoying!!). When I used to live there, I would get covered in bites. Grabe. And of course, mosquitoes can carry dengue, so it’s something families really have to be careful about.

Flies? Also relentless, especially in the province. You put food down and they are there already.

Grasshoppers though — those were kind of fun. I remember catching them with my cousins when we were kids. Simple times. But honestly, I’m still not a fan of insects haha.

Quick practical note — if you’re visiting the Philippines, make sure your vaccinations are updated. Mosquitoes in some areas (like Palawan) can carry illnesses, and rabies is still present in some animals. Just be informed and prepared. Travel smart.
