Chinese New Year Printable Worksheets for Kids

The Philippines also celebrates Chinese New Year, and growing up, it was quite popular. I remember the TV would have so much content about feng shui predictions. They would interview experts, talk about good luck, bad luck, what animal year you are, and how the year might go for you. It was actually pretty interesting to watch.

Did we fully follow everything? Hmm… I don’t think my mum really did 😅 It was more of a fun, nice-to-know kind of thing in our house.

What we did have though was tikoy (sticky rice cake) or anything sticky. The belief is that sticky food means abundance and good fortune will stick to you for the year. Honestly, I just remember enjoying eating it haha.

Now that I have J, I love sharing these little cultural memories with her. It opens conversations and keeps traditions alive in our own simple way.

So this year, I made a simple, low-prep Chinese New Year printable pack for toddlers and preschoolers. Mostly black and white (low ink friendly ✔️), easy to print, and perfect for holiday quiet time.

Print it, color it, and talk about it. Ask your child what they hope for this year. Even “more toys” or “more ice cream” is a valid goal 😂
