BINIsay-a Series: Emotions

This October, our BINIsay-a Series is all about emotions! From nalipay (happy) to nasuko (angry), we’ll learn the Bisaya words that toddlers (and parents!) feel every single day. Fun, relatable, and perfect for acting out with your little ones!

Parenting life = all the emotions in one day, right? 😂

From giggles to tears to meltdowns (and that’s just before breakfast), our little ones show us the whole range. So for this month’s BINIsay-a Series, we’re learning emotions in Bisaya!

Why emotions?

Because toddlers (and us parents too, let’s be real) go through these 4 emotions almost daily. Teaching kids how to name their feelings in Bisaya makes learning real, useful, and sometimes even funny.

This Month’s Focus: Emotions

Here are the Bisaya words we’ll be practicing for the next 4 weeks:

✅ Nalipay

Meaning: Happy
💡 Example: Nalipay ko! (I am happy!)

✅ Naguol

Meaning: Sad
💡 Example: Naguol siya. (He/She is sad.)

✅ Nasuko

Meaning: Angry
💡 Example: Nasuko si Inday kay gigutom diay. (The little girl is angry because she is hungry.)

✅ Nahadlok

Meaning: Scared
💡 Example: Nahadlok siya sa iro. (He/She is scared of the dog.)

What’s Next?

Next month, we’re moving on to Action words!

So, whether your toddler is nalipay about a snack, nasuko about bedtime, naguol over a broken toy, or nahadlok of the dark… you’ve got the words for it. 😉

Now, say it every day (with feelings)! 💛
