April’s first worksheet set is inspired by the Bantayog ng mga Bayani festival — a celebration of Filipino heroes. And of course, we can’t talk about heroes without mentioning our national hero, José Rizal.

Rizal was a writer, doctor, and thinker who loved the Philippines deeply. He believed Filipinos deserved fairness, education, and freedom. Instead of fighting with weapons, he used his words. His famous books, Noli Me Tángere and El Filibusterismo, opened people’s eyes to the injustices happening during Spanish colonization.

Because of his courage and love for the country, he became a symbol of peaceful bravery.

Of course, for 4–6 year olds, we’re not going deep into history details — you’ll lose them in two minutes haha. The goal here is simple: helping kids understand what it means to be brave, kind, and to stand up for what is right.

Because being a hero doesn’t always mean writing a book or changing a nation. Sometimes it just means helping a friend, telling the truth, or being kind.

And honestly, that’s the best place to start.

What’s Inside the Worksheet Pack?

This printable set focuses on empowering kids to see themselves as everyday heroes:

🖍 Coloring pages – including a simple introduction to José Rizal
✏️ Tracing activities – hero-related words and values
🎨 Drawing activity – “What makes me a hero?”
🏅 Make your own hero badge – fun cut-and-create craft
Values of a hero worksheet – kindness, bravery, honesty, helping others

It’s a gentle and age-appropriate way to introduce Filipino culture and history without making it too heavy.

A great starting point for conversations like:
“What does being brave mean?”
“How can you be a hero at home or school?”

Simple. Meaningful. Kid-friendly.
